Snowboard Build – Part 2: Edge Bending & Base Color

This morning was all about edge bending for my latest custom snowboard project. Winter can’t come soon enough!

Edge Bending Process

For this build, I tried something a little different. Instead of joining the edges at the tip or tail, I wrapped the edge all the way around the front and back, joining it at the side of the tail, increasing the overall strength by placing a joint in a low impact probability area was an epiphany. The result is a cleaner look and more strength.

Base Material & Color Choice

This board’s getting a red sintered UMHW base that I’m currently flattening out:
